BLURB:
The Hunt, from the bestselling author of The Vampire Diaries L. J. Smith, is a dangerously exciting tale of love, witchcraft, and the supernatural, perfect for fans of the Beautiful Creatures series.
Cassie's life is far from ordinary. Her best friends are a coven of witches and her relationship with her boyfriend, Adam, is written in the stars. As the leader of the Secret Circle, it is up to her to keep them safe.
But then Cassie's evil half sister surfaces, determined to take Cassie's place in the Secret Circle. And a band of powerful witch-hunters begins targeting the group, determined to destroy them. Will the circle remain intact despite the powerfully evil magic that has infiltrated their ring? And will Cassie survive this ultimate battle between good and evil?
EXPECTATIONS: Book five of my beloved witch series!
THE WORLD: New Salem around 1990, the world that would look like ours except for magic and witches and well everything kinda going to hell.
CHARACTERS: Our main character is Cassie and in this book we really start to see a full development of her personality. She discovers who her dad is as well as that she actually has a half sister and just in general I think the direction Cassie is going is great. I love what L.J.Smith did with her in this book. Then we as always have Adam and Diana who I to be honest could live without and then Frye. I am still not sure where her loyalty is...it's just confusing. Additionally we also meet Scarlet who is well kinda nice I guess? Let's just say there is something fishy about her.
ROMANCE: The relationship is pretty straight in this book but there are things that start to happen that kinda start to get in between Cassie and Adam. Or more like somebody instead of things.
GOOD: Witches, black magic, step sisters and magic. You really start to feel this is a series about witches.
BAD: It was a bit slow and predictable tho I do not think it is really a fault of the book. It was releases ages ago so I think it is just the style that used to be popular back then.
OVERALL: It was good, I like the direction is going and really looking forward to read the last book!
What do you think about THE HUNT?
