In So Deadly A Battle...
United at last with Diana, the mistress of her coven, Cassie must first sacrifice her love for Adam to save the Secret Circle and the town of New Salem from the evil powers of the witch Faye.
Threatened by the possibility of her destruction in a final battle between good and evil, Cassie must hope that her supernatural gifts are strong enough to obliterate the powers of evil.
If victorious, Cassie will win more than she ever dreamed. But if she and Diana fail, the Power will go to those who seek only to destroy.
...Can Anyone Triumph?
EXPECTATIONS: I have read the first two books of the series ages ago but my library got the rest of the series and because I was feeling like in a reading slump I just went for something easy and fast.
THE WORLD: We are in the New Salem in today's time, well okay in 1992 time when this book was published. Basically New Salem is a town full of witches and witchcraft and our main characters belong to this Secret Circle of witches and battle the evil.
CHARACTERS: There are many members of the circle that play a role in the story but main ones of course are Cassie, Adam, Diana and Faye. Basically there is an evil battle coming and that is the main idea of the whole series, you actually have to read the whole series to know the story but in this one especially we still stuck in that war of power between Cassie and Faye. I actually like Cassie a lot, she was the main reason I continued reading the series. Well Cassie and the fact that it's about witches. But anyways, I think L.J. Smith really stuck to her style here with characters. Cassie is this troubles newcomer, Adam is forever in love with Diana till Cassie comes. Diana is this super pure girl who loves Cassie so dearly she is willing to give up her boyfriend and well yeah. It is not great, the characters are not very complex but they are flufy and familiar and I love them. Well maybe not Diana, lol.
ROMANCE: There is actually a love triangle being solves in this one so that's a big plus!
GOOD: It's about witches!
BAD: I think if you like these very complex full of cliffhangers plots of today's YA this series might be too easy for you.
OVERALL: I liked it, I liked the direction series was going and gladly recommend if you are looking for something fluffy and easy.
What do you think about THE POWER?
