BLURB: Mysterious doors with lizard-head knobs. Talking stone statues. A crazy girl with a hatchet. Yes, Liv's dreams have been pretty weird lately. Especially the one where she's in a graveyard at night, watching four boys conduct dark magic rituals.

The strangest part is that Liv recognizes the boys in her dream. They're classmates from her new school in London, the school where she's starting over because her mom has moved them to a new country (again). But what's really scaring Liv is that the dream boys seem to know things about her in real life, things they couldn't possibly know--unless they actually are in her dreams? Luckily, Liv never could resist a good mystery, and all four of those boys are pretty cute....

EXPECTATIONS: Don't mind that I took the Spanish cover because it's the one I have and it's like the original one. The English one sucks big time. Anyway, I've read this book a few times but I didn't remember enough to write a full review so after re-reading it here are my thoughts.

THE WORLD: Our own world but with a parallel-kind-of-dreamed-realm exists. I'll explain... so some people dream of a corridor full of doors and each door leads to different dreams by different people. It's like a "Dreamscape" (let's call it that).

CHARACTERS: Main character and narrator is Olivia "Liv" Silber. She's a 15 year old girl who just got to London with her younger sister, Mia, in order to finally live with her mom for more than a year in one place. Liv says in the book her parents are divorced and both travel a lot so they keep moving from one place to another. The book starts when they move to London permanently. Surprise surprise their mom has a new boyfriend and the two families decide to live under the same roof (= chaos). When they start school we are introduced to four boys (no, it's not The Raven Cycle) named Henry Harper, Grayson Spencer, Jasper Grant, and Arthur Hamilton. In a twist of events things get very complicated when Liv starts dreaming weird things and the boys seem to be always there, for more excitement Grayson turns out to be the son of Liv's mom's new boyfriend so they become sort-of-siblings.

ROMANCE: There's a bit of a romance going on but it's not very focused on it.

GOOD: I found Liv's narrative to be really quirky and funny. It makes the whole book really easy to read. Perfect for light summer reading. And I also liked the sisterly bond in the book. You can feel it and I think it's really great how a good sibling relationship is portrayed, no super jealousy boybott-style things going on.

Story-wise, now that I re-read the book I find similarities with The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater but not on the plot itself... more like the settings, etc. I don't mind. This book was published back in 2013 and it's from a German author. I actually really like the idea of the plot, the "Dreamscape" and the lucid dreams!

BAD: Being this the first book it is normal for it to be introductory. For people who like lots of action it might get a bit tedious because the climax and the whole clickclak-badabim-badaboom of the book happens at the very end... last 10%. Like I said, the narrative is very funny and enjoyable but just be aware that it is an introduction to the actual story happening in books 2 and 3.

OVERALL: 4 stars. As an introductory book to a trilogy it does a very good job. It's funny, it's light, the story when it's revealed at the end makes you go "more! I need more!." Definitely recommended.
