SYNOPSIS: After a few hard kicks in the ribs, I’m left alone on the floor of the bathroom choking and trying to catch my breath. Through the searing pain in my lungs, I notice something strange: I’m not as devastated as I have been in the past after one of these run-ins.
I scurry as quietly as possible to my dorm to brush my teeth, wash and change quickly. Then, I go hide in my attic. I wonder what’s changed. Curling up on the century-old sofa that has held me in its comforting embrace after countless of these encounters in the past, I contemplate with a dawning wonder the newfound concept of choice.
And right at that moment, the feeling I had three weeks ago of being watched comes over me again.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
My apologies for being a bit behind my TBR and planned schedule... my "vacations" are turning out to not be vacations at all.

THE WORLD: It takes place mostly in our world, in a remote region of (South) America because there is a jungle and everything... and a parallel dragon world called Graha. Yes! a DRAGON world!
CHARACTERS: The main character is Vikarra "Vika" Vega, who attends a girls-only school somewhere in that remote place. She has a troubled relationship with her father, Reign Vega, because he was the one who put her in that school since she was 3 and also every time Vika makes a friend (which doesn't happen too often since she's very reserved) her dad takes that friend away from her. He is a powerful man that can influence the school. I'm not going to lie, I hated her dad too. I feel you Vika. As main character we also have the mysterious Tanner Black, heir to the school empire, meaning that the Black family owns that school and many many others around the world. Tanner's friends are also featured: Roman, Connor, Colt, and Kavi. They didn't have much development but their intricate stories with Tanner were interesting.
I don't want to give away much but prepare for dragons! I told you they can take human form *wink wink*

LOVE: There is insta-love but there is barely love, you know? like it's not that big of a deal because there is insta-attraction but things don't go too far so it wasn't annoying (except one scene I thought was a bit weird).
PLUS: The dragons! I love dragons and reading about the dragon world, dragon culture, and how dragons can transform into their "human form" was great and super fun. I hope the next book will continue exploring Graha and their history!
The freaking plot-twist at the epilogue of the book. I mean... what??? How is the second book going to be now? I'm so curious!
MINUS: I would have liked to see a bit more development and depth in the characters but it's something fixable since the series will have 4 books.
OVERALL: 4-4.5 stars. That plot-twist got me in the end. I am super confused and super curious and I now I don't know if I'm the one living in reality or a fantasy world :P
