BLURB:
Our favorite white trash zombie, Angel Crawford, has enough problems of her own, what with dealing with her alcoholic, deadbeat dad, issues with her not-quite boyfriend, the zombie mafia, industrial espionage and evil corporations. Oh, and it’s raining, and won’t let up.

But things get even crazier when a zombie movie starts filming in town, and Angel begins to suspect that it’s not just the plot of the movie that's rotten. Soon she's fighting her way through mud, blood, bullets and intrigue, even as zombies, both real and fake, prowl the streets.

Angel’s been through more than her share of crap, but this time she’s in way over her head. She’ll need plenty of brainpower to fit all the pieces—and body parts—together in order to save herself, her town, and quite possibly the human race.

EXPECTATIONS: In the second book I did start to like Angel quite a bit more, but the plot was still mediocre. The premise of this book didn't look much promising either, so I went in with as low of expectations as I could muster.

THE WORLD: Louisiana is in for a flood. The low areas are in the biggest danger, the ones where Angel and her father live. But that's not her main concern right this instance. They're shooting a movie in the neighborhood! And it's about zombies, so there's a crowd of make-up layered people strolling about, grunting "braaaaains". Angel has a thought of starving for a day or two to sneak in as another extra, but someone beat her to her joke, it seems. And didn't make it funny either. Someone still experiments on zombies, and one just happened to be in the crowd of the fake ones when he went wild...

CHARACTERS: Angel continues to be wonderful and resourceful. Her sheer willpower makes her not only a better human than most, white trash or not, but a better zombie than most for sure too. Her boyfriend seems to be behaving better too, even if some over-protective dumbness peeks out now and again. And her father, hell, that man's great, and seems to be taking this new page in his life quite seriously. But everyone's very secretive with each other. And worse, everyone's a double agent too. Any side character you meet will work for someone, while in truth, they work for someone else. Yes, I know.

ROMANCE:  Angel and her cop boyfriend seem to be getting along better, but she still has to tell him that he needs to stop being overprotective and such. At one point she threw an outright, but really well deserved fit about him asking to discuss things with him before she does them. The fit involved the bathroom, and I will say no more. Props to Angel, good game.

GOOD: Angel. Really, she's the best thing about these series. I still don't see what exactly makes her trash, because in my opinion she's simply poor, and that sure as hell doesn't make her white trash.

BAD: The plot has nothing to offer, and we're three books in. Those Zoldiers make absolutely no sense, seeing how Angel burns through her brain stashes, they'll be requiring massive amounts of fuel just to go on for a couple of hours. Nah, just nah.

OVERALL: I don't know. It's so damn mediocre that I feel like I got myself a chore book series once again. At least Angel is fun, I guess, that makes it worth the while for the most part for me.

What do you think about WHITE TRASH ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE?
