BLURB:
Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges...

Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her.

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity...

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.

EXPECTATIONS: I always dread taking books of Dracula, and yet I always expect, hope with all my heart that it might just be good. I wasn't disappointed with the previous book in the Dark Prince series, so I picked this one up expecting no less.

THE WORLD: This time, other than Leila getting plucked out of her home, and planted into Vlad's home in some remote place, which if I remember correctly was in Romania, we also get to, well, get back to the very circus Leila used to work in. All due to the fact that vampires can be colder than cold.

CHARACTERS: Leila is frustrated. As much as she loves the handsome dark prince, Vlad, she cannot stand the cold shoulder he's offering. He goes without saying, leaves for indefinite amounts of time, returns and offers no explanations. The last straw was his offer to make her a vampire in a party before all of his guests. Both Leila and her fairly annoying sister were beyond sure he's going to propose. That getting tossed over-board was the last straw. Leila rage-quit everything, sparing neither action nor word. Luckily she still has friends outside Vlad's circle, so she returned just there, to the man who long wished to be more than friends. And if Leila still has doubts about finding a new path in life, just wait until she finds out Vlad's Ex is back on the radar.

ROMANCE: Well, we could've expected that, right? The I love you, but I must be strong, I love you, but I dread losing you, I love you, and bloody hell I will soak the world in blood if anyone as much as sneezes in your direction. Leila loves Vlad, and Vlad loves Leila. To her this is an easy question if a question at all. To him it's the dread his only other love instilled in him, his first wife, whom he loved, and whose death broke him. It's not that simple of a question for him. In fact, for him it's a question of survival, for he is not sure he could stand another such tragedy.

GOOD: The more I read, the more Leila reminds me of Sookie, but with... Something more, I guess. Vlad, on the other hand, reminds me nothing of any other vampire than Dracula himself, and I am very pleased by that.

BAD: Author, trying to confuse the reader in the plot, and hide away some too obvious strings, tried her best to pile lies, delusions, and ideas on top of another, making her characters tell you they believe the ridiculous notion. Sadly, as a plot cover-up, it didn't work. So, things are pretty obvious.

OVERALL: Right, while this felt slower than the previous book, and I had much too much of Leila's inner world of feelings, I did enjoy it well enough. It's a good story, if nothing else.
