BLURB:
Alisa Perne is the last vampire. Beautiful and brilliant, she hunts alone, living among humans, living off humans. But someone is stalking her. Someone wants her dead. And Alisa has a choice to make - to keep a long held promise or protect the mortal she seems to be falling for.

EXPECTATIONS: I got this book from HannahCassie a few years back, I saw the word vampire – sold! Going into I didn’t know anything beyond what the blurb said, and I kind of liked it. A girl, vampire, an ancient one at that, in school, meets a boy, but someone is following her – sounded amazing! Yeah, it’s barely what the book is about! If you think you will get a serious book about an ancient vampire who needs to travel around and finally meets someone in hundreds of years and has to make a decision to save him or to basically let him die, run away! This book is not for you!

THE WORLD: It’s pretty much our world, the one we know about. The plot takes place in a town called Mayfair, sorry I don’t know if that’s a real place or not. Out characters go to school, and the present times is where the plot takes place now. We also have memories of the main character and that takes place in any time during the past.

CHARACTERS: Our main character and narrator is Alisa. She is one of the original vampires. She was born some years B.C. and her given name was actually Sita. From what I understood, she was very different looking in her time, as she and her family lived in India, however, she was blonde and blue eyed. Now Alisa may seem cool and like a character you would like to know, but she is not. She acts like a child, but talks like a history professor. She is rude, arrogant and really does not act like a person who met Khrisna or Bram Stoker, who saw kingdoms rise and fall. She even says a line like ‘I stayed away from the French because they bored me’. What the hell is this? Also, she has no personality. She is lifeless and super boring.

We also have Ray, the boy she falls in love with. I thought he was ok, I mean he did resemble a teenager. He was nice, naïve and sweet. We have his girlfriend Pat, who is there just to create drama…but there was no drama. We get various characters from Alisa’s past.

Moreover, we have the original vampire (no not Klaus) – Yaksha, who chose Alisa to be his mate for life and now is following her.

ROMANCE: Alisa and Ray, Yaksha and Alisa, and we also get to meet Alisa’s first husband when she was a human – Rama.

GOOD: I enjoyed the innical plot, before I read the book. The blurb made it sound good. I am very interested in India and ancient cultures, so having this book with a lot of Indian customs and explanations was nice.

Also, I liked the intro, or the first paragraph was nice. It read interesting, smooth and intrigued me quite a bit!

BAD: No conflict – Alisa tells Ray she killed his father, and he’s like ‘Hmm….well, Ok cause you let me do things to you’. Falling in love happens in one night. All of it...it's bad guys! All of it!

OVERALL: Do not read this book! Really I mean it, it will just get you mad!
