SYNOPSIS: A boy with extraordinary powers. An army of deadly monsters. An epic battle for the future of peculiardom.
The adventure that began with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and continued in Hollow City comes to a thrilling conclusion with Library of Souls. As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children.
They’ll travel from modern-day London to the labyrinthine alleys of Devil’s Acre, the most wretched slum in all of Victorian England. It’s a place where the fate of peculiar children everywhere will be decided once and for all. Like its predecessors, Library of Souls blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.
After being a bit disappointed with Hollow City I was expecting the last book to be either epic or at least more adventured-packed and entertaining... it was! Yay!
THE WORLD: In the last book we were set in past London (1940) but in this book the children cross the loop again and now we are in present-day London. Not much of London is featured though because the children spend the majority of the time in a loop called the Devil's Acre and later on a place called Abaddon.
CHARACTERS: The main characters are the same as in the previous two book. We have Jacob, Emma, the rest of the peculiar children, Miss Peregrine, Miss Wren, the rest of the Ymbrynes, a peculiar dog called Addison who can talk and then we have Caul/Jack and Bernhard (Miss Peregrine's relatives). After the children were kidnapped and taken to Devil's Acre, Jacob and Emma have to track them down with the help of Addison. They manage to find it but then the best starts... the battle! how can Jacob and Emma rescue their friends? Oh I'm not going to spoil anything but I can say that this book already gets intense past the 50% line.
LOVE: Gladly it was a big part of the story. There were too many bad things going on so obviously Ransom didn't focus on romance, fiu!

PLUS: More action! Library of Souls was not as boring as Hollow City. It features the final battle so it had to be more interesting! It wasn't epic but I liked it more than the second book. I also like how the characters put themselves together better, they were scared but they knew there was no other way so there they wen! Into battle without a clue! These kids are not very smart... but I got used to that.
MINUS: I wasn't fond of the end... it's a nice ending but somehow it didn't fill me up... it was too bland? I don't know I wish there was something more but it wasn't a bad ending either. It's a so lala (HannahCassie will understand this, she knows German).
OVERALL: 4 stars. Much better than the second book! Not only one but two battles! More mature characters and also some other annoying characters but meh anyway it wasn't an epic finale but I am quite happy with it. A nice trilogy in the end! Hollow City just suffered from second book syndrome.
